On Saturday evening the Rotary Club of Maraval hosted their 25th anniversary concert and fundraising event at Green Meadows Estate, Santa Cruz. The event featured performances by Elan Parle with John Francis, critically-acclaimed saxophonist Arturo Tappin, 2018 Chutney Soca Monarchs Neval Chatelal and Nishard Mayrhoo with Masala Movement, Nigel Rojas, and new-comers Moore Music group and Good Vibes.

A silent auction was also held that boasted artwork donated by artists such as Abigail Sabeeny, Fitzroy Hoyte, Karen Hale-Jackson and Horizons art gallery.

The earlier entertainment performances by Gooding family “Good Vibes” band and Moore sisters, “Moore’s Music” group but as the night set in, the heavy weights Nigel Rojas, Elan Parle, 2018 Chutney Soca Monarchs Neval Chatelal and Nishard Mayrhoo with Masala Movement.

The event culminated with an exhilarating memorable performance by saxophonist Arturo Tappin who even before a blew a note, drew the crowd stage side. Also celebrating their 25th anniversary was the Rotary Club of Princess Town, whose President Bashir Mohammed was also present.

Other notable Rotarians in attendance were  Brian and Pamela O’farrell, former MP Marvin Assam, Helen Achue, Brig. Carl and Lesley Alfonso, Pamela and Katherine Dalton-Brown and past presidents of Port-of-Spain Rotary clubs Jaspal Bhogal and Major Lawrence Wilson.

Patrons to this event were treated to a wonderful show as they danced the evening away to “Jazz Under The Stars” in Santa Cruz.
